The Inner Sacred Marriage: Reclaiming Wholeness in a Time of Polarization
Within each of us, opposing forces shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions—light and shadow, masculine and feminine, expansion and contraction. In this shamanic-psychotherapy workshop you will encounter and explore the polarizations and the polarities within your own psyche.
Each of us possess psychological and archetypal polarities. When held consciously, these polarities generate creative energy and profound psychological insight. War—whether internal or external—is born of polarization, not of polarity.
The distinction between polarization and polarity is vital. Polarization is a state of imbalance and incompletion. Polarization thrives on division, alienation, and disconnection.
Polarity, on the other hand, is life giving and generative.
In this workshop, through energetic, shamanic, and ceremonial practices, you will meet the spirit of your own polarization, revealing the energies that may feel divided within you. You will also meet the spirit of your sacred inner marriage, discovering the wisdom of integrated and balanced polarities.
This workshop offers a powerful opportunity for self-discovery, healing, and transformation. Whether you seek clarity, inner harmony, or a deeper connection with your spiritual path, this workshop will guide you toward wholeness. Join us and step into a profound dialogue with your unconscious dimensions so that your polarities do not polarize nor compete within you, but rather, complement and enhance each other in a fruitful and synergistic way.
This workshop-ceremony will include:
• A shamanic-psychotherapy teaching on polarity and polarization
• My Grounding and Merging Process, a guided journey through your energetic infrastructures to enliven and expand your energetic self-concept to include transpersonal dimensions
• Drum journeys to expand awareness of our vulnerable, human experience of polarity and polarization
• Journaling prompts to deepen your inner conversation about your relationship to your inner sacred marriage
For New Mexico Therapists Earning Ethics CEUs
Ethical psychotherapy requires navigating polarization—both within ourselves and in our clients—with awareness and integrity. Unresolved inner conflict or unconscious biases can subtly influence therapeutic neutrality, empathy, and attunement. This workshop helps therapists recognize polarization and integrate polarities, reducing the risks of bias, reactivity, and countertransference. This workshop offers a unique, embodied approach to ethical practice—helping therapists cultivate balance within so they can assist others in growth, healing, and transformation.
